Bio

Dorothy Holley, Ph.D., is a veteran science educator with 30 years of experience teaching in rural North Carolina schools. She currently teaches Chemistry and Forensics at West Johnston High School in Benson, NC.

Dorothy holds degrees in Chemistry, Environmental Education, and Learning and Teaching STEM, and her work has focused on project-based learning, student research, and community partnerships. In addition to being a Kenan Fellow, her professional experiences include serving as an Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellow, a NOAA Teacher at Sea, a Fulbright Teacher for Global Classrooms Fellow, and an NC Education Policy Fellow.

Through her teaching, research, and leadership, Dorothy explores how educators grow, collaborate, and remain engaged in the profession. She is passionate about creating learning environments where students and teachers alike can take risks, build connections, and thrive.
