This week has been the best professional development that I have ever experienced as an educator. I have never felt so motivated at the end of these experiences as I do today. I learned so many new tools that I hope to investigate further in order to use within my classroom in the coming years. The one that I am going to try first is blogging within the classroom. Whenever I have access to an Ipad cart I hope to use this tool to allow my students to reflect on the mathematics concepts that they have learned. I think that my least favorite sessions was the Leveraging Literacy for the K-12 science classroom only because there were not a lot of connections to mathematics resources, however there was lots of ways to promote literacy within the classroom which was the focus. I think the most useful session was Encouraging Independent Learners with BYOD was the most useful because it showed me lots of ways to incorporate technology within my classroom through the use of socrative, kahoot, and class craft.

I think that massive amount of knowledge that I have gained through this experience is only a fraction of my experience this week. Being able to collaborate with other teachers that are so excited about the profession has probably been the most rewarding experience for me. Education is a field in which it is very easy to become overwhelmed and isolated at times. This week I have been able to learn from other’s experiences while building new professional relationships that will continue to grow and support me throughout my professional career, for that I am the most grateful!
