Hosni M. Hassan is a Professor of Microbiology, Biochemistry, Food Science and Toxicology at N.C. State University.
During the past 40 years, he has been working on oxidative stress and microbial antioxidant enzymes. The findings of his studies will led researchers to develop and patent a certain attenuated live vaccine strain for protection against Salmonellosis and possibly other Food-borne pathogens.
Dr. Hassan holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of California, Davis. He was a 1987-88 Fulbright Senior Research Scholar, Jacques Monod Institute, University of Paris VII and served as the President-elect and President of NC branch of American Society for Microbiology, 1993-94.
