It is hard to believe this time last year I received my acceptance letter for the Kenan Fellows program. Writing, editing and revising my curriculum forced me to think “outside the box” and reflect. I had to really focus on why I am doing what I am doing, how do I put it into words, and what are the most important ideas that need to be discussed. It was an amazing opportunity to partner with the Community Lab at Biogen Idec and have them use my curriculum with my students. They were able to bring more of my ideas to life, which I was unable to accomplish in my classroom, due to the availability of equipment and money. I would like to continue to partner with others and share my curriculum in this way.
