Students ready to work in a GMP controlled environment.
My overarching goal for my curriculum unit was to offer a real world experience for my students, while integrating NC Essential Standards. I believe after implementing my curriculum, I have accomplished this for my students. My students now see what they are learning in sixth grade connects to the outside world. Also, this connection will continue when the students travel to Biogen Idec for a day of science exploration. I feel truly blessed to be able to give this experience for my students, in partnership with Biogen Idec. My students will do experiments in the community lab, tour a real science lab, manufacturing facility and listen to a range of people who work for Biogen Idec. I can’t wait to report back on how this experience went!
