Erin is a teacher at Wake Forest Middle School, Wake Forest, NC.  This school is part of the Wake County Public School system, the largest in the state.  She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in biology and chemistry from Slippery Rock University.  She went on to earn her Master of Education degree, with a concentration in Secondary Education, also from Slippery Rock University, Pennsylvania.  Erin was named a National Science Teacher Association (NSTA) New Teacher Fellow (2011-2012).  Erin has led several professional development classes on “Flippin’ the Classroom” and was on a panel for the Siemens Stem Academy Webinar called “Flipping the Classroom with FIZZ.”  Erin has also worked for her county science department to align the North Carolina Essential Standards to the Common Core Literacy Standards.  She is a coach for her school’s Future City team and occasionally gets roped into working with the cheerleaders.    When Erin is not teaching, she enjoys running, eating local, swing dancing, and baking cupcakes.
