Kenan Fellows from across North Carolina are partnering with the Your Wildlife team to bring citizen science to the classroom.
What is citizen science? It’s the idea that anyone can collect data for scientific study and that scientists and the public can work together to answer scientific questions.
Together, the Kenan Fellows and the team of researchers at N.C. State University and the N.C. Museum of Natural Science are working to create opportunities for students to engage in real scientific discovery.
Your Wildlife has launched the Students Discover website dedicated to this five-year project.
“It’s one of the best experiences of my life,” said 2014-15 Kenan Fellow Arthina Blanchard, a teacher at Mills Park Middle School in Wake County.
Listen to Ms. Blanchard’s story and other interviews with the Students Discover Kenan Fellows at StudentsDiscover.org.
