Changes…

My fellowship showed how important it is to let students fail and figure out solutions to the problems encountered.  I think it is very important to let students problem solve.  They have become accustomed to being handed the answers instead of finding the answer themselves.

My students will be responsible for their own learning.  I plan to act as a guide on the side, instead of the sole source of content.  I want my students to explore the content and only ask for assistance, not answers.  I think this will take some modeling and time for my students to learn the process.

Students will explore phenomena before it is discussed to develop hypotheses about why it happens and what effects could be caused.  This will allow students to become familiar with the content before formally introduced.
