My name is Nancy Cattrell and I am a science teacher in the Academy of Engineering at Apex Friendship High School.  This is my eighth year teaching in North Carolina.  I have taught Biotechnology and Project Lead The Way at the middle school level, prior to teaching high school.

I graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and a minor in Animal Science in 2008.  I earned a Master of Education in Science Education in 2012 from East Carolina University.

I run an after-school club for young ladies called WISE (Women in Science and Engineering).  This year, we have built solar powered cars, foldable microscopes, and traveled to Carowinds to learn about physics extremes.

I also extremely involved in theater.  I act as the technical director for our theater department, which includes design and creation of costumes, make-up design and application, lighting and sound design, install, and performance duties, and design and construction of sets and props.
