About My Fellowship

KF1

My eighth year in education will be at Apex Friendship High School teaching honors Chemistry. I have previously taught high school Biology, Chemistry, Physical Science, Physics and middle school Biotechnology and Project Lead The Way.

The Kenan Fellows Program offered the opportunity to collaborate with professors from NC State and STEM professionals. The Nanotechnology Fellowship was interesting to me because it would allow learning about programming and wearable devices. I wanted to expand my knowledge to better teach my students; it is essential for educators to be life long learners.

I hope to gain knowledge and build professional relationships. The knowledge will enable me to explain and demonstrate complex concepts to my students. The professional connections will help connect students to opportunities offered in multiple disciplines.
