We are about halfway done with our summer internship with Kenan Fellows. This leaves me feeling a little sad inside.
I feel like I have a million goals for my classroom this year, and not all of the have to do with DIRT and all of the “science-y things” I am learning.
Goals for Teacher:
Be okay with not always knowing the answer.
Accept and be happy that I am growing and learning just like my students.
Share the world with my students.
Be okay with mistakes.
Set up careful guidelines that my students can follow that allow my students to conduct experiments for CITIZEN SCIENCE.
Create amazing lesson plans for my students to see the science around them.
Goals for Students:
Ask Questions.
Make mistakes, learn from them, and change.
Seek answers to questions (other than asking the teacher), and share with the class.
Be okay with not having the perfect answer.
Make goals to be a helpful member of the lab team and workforce.
