Pharmaceutical Manufacturing: STEM Careers in Eastern North Carolina
Kenan Fellow Ryan Gardner will spend five weeks working with Metrics, Inc., exploring their nationally respected work in pharmaceutical development and manufacturing. Metrics offers a broad range of pharmaceutical development services in their state-of-the-art facility in Eastern North Carolina. The company can deliver one-stop development from initial formulation through final commercial production—all within the same Greenville site. Under the direction of research scientists, Mr. Gardner will learn essential skills and responsibilities to be a contributing member of the Metrics team. Immersed in a scientific research setting, he’ll work in the analytical chemistry laboratory and experience the pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. Mr. Gardner will integrate his newly acquired knowledge into engaging curriculum materials. The lessons you create will clearly articulate the many high demand pharmaceutical career possibilities awaiting students beyond high school.
