The Kenan Fellows Program is allowing me to make new professional and community connections.  This will allow me to involve the community, local businesses, and universities into my curriculum.  Students will be given real-world examples of content and how it relates to multiple fields.  I will gain a better understanding of my content in the real-world by working with professionals in the field.

The Kenan Fellowship will improve my skills in cross-curricular activities, and improve my leadership skills.  This will allow me to become a leader in my school and community by creating staff development and community events.  I will run a Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Club at my school to encourage young women to explore universities, degrees, and careers focused on STEM.  Our group will become involved in the community by sponsoring STEM events at our feeder elementary and middle schools to create an early interest in STEM.
