The mentors for my fellowship were Dr.Jesse Jur and Dr.Elena Veety from the ASSIST Center on NC State’s Centennial Campus.  I enjoyed working on a university campus with professors.  Jess and Elena worked with us as peers and allowed time to work individually.  We also worked in groups with other fellowship members to create a new project.  Most of the fellowship we were working independently with input from Jess and Elena.  They provided multiple “ah-ha” moments for me throughout my fellowship; I feel like I learned something new everyday.  Elena will be attending a Women in STEM event hosted by the AFHS WISE Club in April.  I know that I can reach out to them with questions concerning anything we studied over the summer.  I look forward to working with Jess and Elena in the future.
