Lesson 14: Looking at Cost (A)
Activities:
- Review requirements for vehicles that have been met in investigations so far.
- Discuss what other challenges engineers may have to meet with designs.
- Discuss how the cost is an important factor in the design process.
- Go over handout 13-A: Evaluating the Cost of Our Design.
- SCIENCE NOTEBOOK: Glue the completed cost handout into the science notebook.
- As a class, discuss results.
- Have students discuss what they deem to be an inexpensive and expensive cost for a vehicle.
- Have students brainstorm changes to make to the vehicle to reduce cost. Review requirements for vehicles that have been met in investigations so far.
